Product Description:“Stone grinders, known as ‘chekku’ were a part of the great tradition of the Tamils, who used to grind oil from seeds, nuts, and powders for cooking. Oil producers used a long, cylindrical oil-extracting apparatus, which was known as “Ghani.” Other local terms include “Chekku” and “Kolhu.” They added seeds to the mortar and pestle contraption. Thereafter, an animal perambulates around the device to apply pressure on the seeds and to extract the oil from it. Thus, the mechanical action of crushing and pressing seeds to yield oil. These can include a great feature in the garden.
